Joseph Esherick (1914-1998) opened his San Francisco architectural firm in 1946 and was a major influence on residential design in the Bay Region. His major projects include demonstration houses at Sea Ranch, the Cannery in San Francisco and the Monterey Bay Aqarium. He served as Dean of the Department of Architecture at University of California, Berkeley from 1977-1981.
